Street Racket

Street Racket teaches racket skills to 5 & 6 year olds in schools. It was recently selected in the top 100 global sporting and educational innovations in the world. Street Racket has already been introduced to 3000 South Auckland primary school children.

Street Racket directly addresses the issue of declining youth sport participation trends in Aotearoa. A recent Active NZ survey, has indicated there has been a decline in rates of students with a meaningful involvement with a school sport programme from 56% to 51%.

The Street Racket pilot programme was introduced to Schools in NZ back in 2019 and it has been a resounding success. So much so it has been recognised as one of the key physical sporting programmes of the future and with the required funding, will be introduced across Auckland and the rest of New Zealand in coming years.

A new initiative to design an innovative Tamariki sports and wellbeing programme to set Rethinking Racket Sport in motion, which is an extension of the current ST programme.
